The Reflecta ProScan 10T is the top recommendation in the middle price field for film scanners at the moment. It scans with a nominal resolution of 5000 ppi. As you can read in our Review about the Reflecta ProScan 10T
, the Reflecta ProScan 10T is a very fast scanner.
As you can read in our test report, too, the image quality is rather bad, if the scanner is operated with the manufacturer's scan software CyberView. You will get very good scans only if you use the SilverFast scan-software. If you intend to digitize mounted slides with the reflecta ProScan 10T you should use the SilverFast Ai Studio Scan-Software by all means and make an IT-8 colour calibration. If you intend to digitize negatives, you get the best results if you use SilverFast SE Plus or SilverFast Ai Studio and if you you select the suitable film type within the Negafix dialogue before scanning.
In the here offered bundle with SilverFast SE / SE Plus you get an essentially better scan software than in the standard version (CyberView). Thanks to better image editing algorithms and more setting possibilities you take out more from the films than with the CyberView scan software. A colour calibration, however, is not available with the SilverFast SE / SE Plus version; this is only contained in the Ai Studio version. We offer the reflecta ProScan 10T also in a bundle with SilverFast Ai Studio/Archive Suite
In the scope of delivery of the Reflecta ProScan 10T there is a film holder for up to 4 mounted 35mm slides, and there is a film strip holder in which you can insert film strips up to a length of 6 pictures. The film holder is inserted into the scanner at its side; thanks to a viewing window over the sensor you can check, if the position is exactly right. A batch mode for automatic scanning of several slides or negatives is not offered by the ProScan 10T. As a higher-value alternative there is the Reflecta RPS 10M
, which can process complete film strips automatically.
Please, choose above, below the price information, between the SilverFast version SE, SE Plus and SE Archive Suite. The essential difference between the SE and the SE Plus version is the multi-exposure function of the SE-Plus version. Multi-exposure means that a photo is scanned with different exposures and that an optimal image is computed from the different scans. This partly leads to a significant increase of the image quality of the scans. More information about that function you can find on our SilverFast FAQ-site under Multi-Exposure. The SilverFast SE Archive Suite contains additionally to the SilverFast SE Plus software the SilverFast HDR software, so that you can create raw scans which you can process afterwards. More information about that can be found on our website SilverFast HDR Studio.

When working with film strips it can often happen that you accidentally touch the emulsion side of the film. The damage often is irreparable. You can avoid damages to the film material and comfortably insert film strips into the scanner or film holder by wearing fine cotton gloves.
Anti-dust spray is used to clean film material - no matter if it's mounted slides or film strips - by removing dust and fluffs with a flimsy current of air without touching the film material at all. There is no better, more comfortable and more efficient way to clean your film material.
For working with single negatives or positives we highly recommend using tweezers, because otherwise you run the risk of touching and damaging the film.
Those who work
with digital images - no matter if they come from a digital camera or from a film
scanner - should absolutely calibrate their screen. Without a screen calibration
performed with objective criteria you run the risk of wrongly adjusting the settings of
the scan or the image editing software, which makes the image look right on your
screen, but will cause unnatural alienated colours on other output devices (printer,
image service, new screen).
