A yes in the column IT-8 calibration indicates that the Ai version comes with an IT-8 target for IT-8 scanner calibration. Three different operational modes: SilverFast can be used in three different ways: the stand-alone tool generates and saves image files directly to the hard disk drive. The Photoshop plug-in can be started directly from Photoshop. And the universal TWAIN plug-in can be started from any image editing software. In this case no file is generated. Instead the scanned image appears in the image editing software. SilverFast JobManager As soon as you're not only scanning single images but whole batches the JobManager is very helpful. With this tool it's easy to scan a whole film strip or a pack of slides in batch mode. With the JobManager you can manage routine procedures which can be set, saved and reloaded. The JobManager can process an unlimited number of images. The limit is set by the scanner exclusively. Every single image of one go can be processed either with the same or with individual settings. IT-8 Calibration By means of an IT-8 target the scanner can be colour calibrated. The target is a slide with many small colour fields corresponding certain colours. For every colour field a reference colour value is saved in a file. By comparing these reference values with the scanned actual colour values it is possible to exactly colour calibrate the scanner. Thus an individual colour profile for the used scanner is generated which can be saved as ICC profile.
