Three different operational modes: SilverFast can be used in three different ways: the stand-alone tool generates and saves image files directly to the hard disk drive. The Photoshop plug-in can be started directly from Photoshop. And the universal TWAIN plug-in can be started from any image editing software. In this case no file is generated. Instead the scanned image appears in the image editing software. SilverFast JobManager As soon as you're not only scanning single images but whole batches the JobManager is very helpful. With this tool it's easy to scan a whole film strip or a pack of slides in batch mode. With the JobManager you can manage routine procedures which can be set, saved and reloaded. The JobManager can process an unlimited number of images. The limit is set by the scanner exclusively. Every single image of one go can be processed either with the same or with individual settings. IT-8 Calibration By means of an IT-8 target the scanner can be colour calibrated. The target is a slide with many small colour fields corresponding certain colours. For every colour field a reference colour value is saved in a file. By comparing these reference values with the scanned actual colour values it is possible to exactly colour calibrate the scanner. Thus an individual colour profile for the used scanner is generated which can be saved as ICC profile. This IT-8 calibration enables real true colour scanning. RAW data processing with SilverFast Archive Suite In the SilverFast Archive Suite , a combination of SilverFast Ai IT8 Studio and HDR Studio versions, it is possible to establish a workflow for digitising multiple images and archives in a supremely efficient and time-saving way. Due to the 48bit workflow, the hardware-based scanning procedure is completely separated from the image optimisation process. Using the intelligent frame-finding option and the fast saving of originals into lossless HDR file formats (48Bit RAW data) enables you to digitize whole image collections quickly. That's how you effectively prevent your pictures from being destroyed or getting lost. The combination of SilverFasts Multi-Exposure and patented auto IT8 calibration provides the best quality and safety possible. Since calibration data gets embedded into the files, you don't need to calibrate again, when opening and processing the files with SilverFast HDR Studio afterwards. A permanent gamma value synchronization of the 48Bit data secures predictable and consistent brightness and color reproduction between SilverFast Ai IT8 Studio and SilverFast HDR Studio. After scanning with SilverFast Ai IT8 Studio you convert the RAW files with SilverFast HDR Studio. The conversion process uses the HiRePP function. HiRepp means stunning fast opening of huge files in real time and being able to work on them almost instantly.
