With the roll film adaptor SA-30 you can upgrade the Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 or 5000 so that you can scan whole film rolls at once. Film rolls (positive or negative) with up to 40 frames can be inserted into the roll film adaptor SA-30. The roll film adaptor consists of two parts: a normal feeder is attached to the front side of the scanner (in principle it's the same as the serial strip film adaptor). A big film drum is mounted on the back side of the scanner, on which the film automatically rolls up during the scan process. With the roll film adaptor scanning whole film rolls works fully automatic, i.e. after adjusting the scan settings the Super Coolscan 4000/5000 scans the whole film (or a selection) in batch mode without interrupton.
